The Club arranges a range of social activities.

We have a joint social monthly meet with the Bristol Wing of the Light Aircraft Association (LAA). This often features a presentation given by an invited speaker on aviation subjects, or simply members talking about their flying adventures.

Our annual dinner, usually in February, is a popular event and features a guest speaker and presentations. Each year we play a skittles match against our Bristol Wing friends. Aviation quizzes are held, BBQs, “curry nights” and other ad-hoc get togethers.

Club members organise many flying trips (fly-outs) visiting other airfields and often coinciding with colleagues in other clubs. We often arrange day-trips on the last Sunday of each month. We also encourage “buddy flying”, and once you’ve got to know a few other club members you may find yourself sharing landaways and other flights with other like-minded enthusiasts.

Longer trips have included the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly, Northern Ireland, Scotland, France and Northern Europe. Club equipment includes life jackets, PLBs, liferafts for over-water flights. Aircraft comply with EASA regulations and are equipped and insured to fly anywhere in Europe.
